This drug is basically an antihistamine medication which blocks the production of substance called “histamine” in the body. This medicine is available in various forms like: Syrup, Tablets, and REDITABS (Rapidly-Disintegrating Tablets).

How should I take Claritin?
Claritin is such medicine that anyone can take at his own as per the steps provided on its pack. In such cases, it is continued till allergic symptoms are gone completely. However, one must consult doctor if in case symptoms prevail for a long time. You must follow doctor’s instructions strictly.
If you are on tablet prescription then do not crush, chew or try to taste it, just swallow it completely with a glass of water.
If you are on the liquid medicine then, it must be measured exactly as per allowed dosage.
If you are taking REDITABS (Rapidly-Disintegrating Tablets) then following things must be taken care of:
Keep it always inside the blister pack until you really have to take it.
Always use dry hands to remove it from the pack and put directly inside the mouth.
Keep it on your tongue and let it dissolve first, you might need a little water to take it inside.

What happens if I miss a dose?
Take your missed dose only if there is sufficient time left for the next scheduled one.

Do not over dose it. In case if you have done so then, rush to your medical professional.
