Product Description

Combivent is an inhaled medication. Its main components are ipratropium and albuterol. They are known as bronchodilators.

Uses

Combivent is used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Individuals with COPD often experience bronchospasms. This occurs when the bronchi (the airways) undergo an abnormal contraction. This causes the airways to narrow, forming an obstruction. This restricts the amount of air that is able to go in and out of the lungs. This makes it difficult for individuals with COPD to breathe. Combivent is a bronchodilator that is inhaled in measured doses. It causes the airways to relax. This allows for the flow of air in and out of the lungs to increase, making it easier to breathe.
