Product Description

The main component of Propecia is finasteride. This is an inhibitor of an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.

Uses

This medication is used in the treatment of hair loss in men, specifically male patterned baldness. It reduces hair loss that occurs on the crown and the middle of the scalp. Propecia works by decreasing the amount of dihydrotestetosterone (DHT) produced by the body. The decrease in this hormone leads to a rise in hair growth while simultaneously preventing hair loss.

Propecia does not affect the growth of hair on any other part of the body.
