Product Description

Rizact contains Rizatriptan, a selective serotonin receptor agonist. It belongs to a family of medications known as triptans.

Uses

Rizact is used to minimize the effects of migraine headaches. These include painful, throbbing headaches, nausea, and increased sensitivity to light and sound. It is assumed that the widening of blood vessels in the brain is the main cause of migraines in individuals. Rizact works by stimulating the serotonin receptors that are found in the brain. It is a painkiller that is tailored to diminish the pain that is associated with migraines.

Typically, serotonin causes the blood vessels in the brain to contract by stimulating the serotonin receptors. Rizact works by mimicking the effects of serotonin. This causes the stimulation of the serotonin receptors present in the brain. The signals sent to the receptors cause the blood vessels to become smaller. This causes the pain caused by the migraine to reduce.

Rizact cannot be used to prevent the effects of a migraine.

Dosage

Rizact should be taken in a quantity that has been predetermined by a medical specialist. Taking Rizact in a quantity that has not been approved by a medical specialist may result in the decreased effect of Rizact.

Rizact is a capsule that must be placed on the tongue. Once it is dissolved, it can be swallowed. Do not take water with this medication.

The recommended quantity for Rizact is 5mg.

Rizact should be taken when the migraine first appears. Typically, only one dose of Rizact is required. If the migraine persists, a medical specialist may suggest a larger dose.

It is important to not take more 30g of Rizact within one day.

If you have accidentally ingested a greater quantity of Rizact than indicated, you should call emergency healthcare services. You may be at risk for an overdose.
